Studies have shown the immediate effects of preschool education for children during their first 5 years of life. Children are like sponges; they soak in knowledge and continue to learn on a daily basis. It is essential to instill the idea of education and learning in children from a very early age, even before they start Pre- School. This helps young minds develop an interest in learning and prepares them for formal school. It is important to introduce your children to preschool skill building and intellectual learning programs that build a solid foundation that lasts a lifetime. A well designed Pre-School Educational program produces long-term improvement in school success; which includes higher achievement test scores, lower rates of grade retention and higher educational attainment. Research has also shown that starting early learning increases a childs performance throughout their Elementary School years and drastically reduces high school or college dropout rate and has shown excellent adult productivity.
Children enjoy using pencils, charcoal, pastels and chalk. Using these encourages them to vary the intensity or depth of colors. Markers have a place but they are not my first choice. Two of my favorites are charcoal on white card stock paper (so that it can withstand the intensity of the interaction and not tear) and finger paint. Worthy of note here is use of paint smocks for either activity. If your preschooler has to stop and worry about getting dirty or messy, it interferes with the discovery process. Charcoal and Pastel Drawings Lets start with charcoal. Set your kids up with large sheets of white cardstock. I have even bought poster board and cut it in sections so that everyone has canvas to work on. Give your kids charcoal pieces and encourage them to draw whatever they want. Show them that they can use their fingers and hands to smudge the designs, thus creating different effects. They can even put a handprint on it. Ask them to discover what happens when they use different pressure or use an entire side of the charcoal rather than the tip.
For kindergarten, children are expected to know the basic shapes, recognize them and identify how they form part of other items. They may also be expected to be able to draw the shapes - not perfectly, but certainly recognizably. There are many ways to encourage and help your child to learn about shapes. Because shapes are all around us, it is easy to play Find the Shape at home, in the car, in the store and elsewhere. Select one shape at a time to concentrate on, rather than trying to find all the different shapes. A good set of worksheets for preschool will help your child recognize different shapes, see how they form part of other objects, and help them learn how to draw them. Drawing shapes is the precursor to learning how to write, and a good set of worksheets should take you step-by-step through this process until your child is drawing shapes on their own, free hand. Look out for worksheets that combine learning shapes with the use of different colors, as this is particularly effective in reinforcing the shape names.
How will you preschool your young child? In pre-schooling your children must be according to their pace. Teach them according to their capacity. In this way, we can avoid them from being stress out. Stress can disable their learning abilities. Between the ages of 3 and 6 years, your child is capable of learning and absorbing more information than you can imagine. Advance his training with the use of preschool worksheets. These are very powerful tools to stimulate your childs brain. Yes visual aids are worth more than a thousand words. Visuals may include, preschool toys and work books that contain the concept of literacy. Find preschool worksheets that introduce alphabets, sounds, numbers, counting, shapes, colors, dot to dot drawing, coloring in and cutting out activities. As his age progresses, adapt to his needs. You may include advance preschool worksheets that are more on mathematics, reading, writing, perception and more general knowledge. With the help of these pre-school worksheets your child can develop the basic skills he needed when he starts his formal education.
Quality may be a little more expensive, but good worksheets will motivate your child to produce neat work that they can be proud of. If you want to start preparing your child for preschool, kindergarten or even junior school, you need to find preschool worksheets that provide a variety of activities. Literacy, numeracy, reading, writing, drawing, social and natural sciences are some of the areas that children between the ages of 3 and 7 can and should start learning about. Look for variety in the worksheets, as repeating the same exercise over and over will bore your child. Lots of pictures, fun activities and clearly laid out worksheets are what you are looking for. We need to know that there are two factors that influence a childs development: 1. What the child has inherited Most children inherit their parents talents and skills such as singing, writing, speaking, painting and etc. If we observe our child manifesting such abilities we should then be more encourage to help them develop those skills right at their early age. Inherited skills are easier to stimulate. 2. How the child was nurtured Knowledge, exposures and the experiences of the child in his early years influence how his brain develops. Thats the reason why parents send their children to day care schools though others prefer pre schooling them at home which is more practical and cheaper. Either of the both can be a good start for a child to be nurtured and develop. In addition to their pre schooling they give their children a chance to explore the world of art and music. It has been observed that most children who learn music lessons such as piano, violin, guitar and even voice culturing proved to be smarter than those who didnt. Parents believe that if a child practices everything, he will be able to do many things when he grows up.
