There will be neighbors and relatives who will not understand your feeling as to why you are spending so much time and money on the celebration. You should not listen to them as it is your childs graduation ceremony and nobody has the authority to limit your mood. That is true that money should not be wasted and the expenditure should not go out of the budget. With little planning and effort you can easily throw a good party and make your childs day the happiest one. Take as many pictures of the kindergarten graduation ceremony a possible. Take pictures of the cake, of your child cutting the cake, of your child blowing out candles on the cake. These little moments will go on to become the lifes precious treasure. When you and your kid grows up with each passing day, then these moments that you capture in your camera then, will be the thing of joy. Plan for the cake design and order it well in advance. Many students graduate with kindergarten gowns at the same time in many schools and the bakery shops are all booked for the occasion. They may simply not take your order also, thus spoiling your mood and plan.
Thus arguments are frequently heard regarding the necessity of "starting earlier" and "working harder" so that our students can simply remain competitive in the global landscape. But is asking a five year old to spend thirty hours a week at school too much to ask of them? We examine both sides of the issue. On the positive side, the primary overarching intention of all-day kindergarten is to better prepare students to succeed. The definition of success is clearly in the eye of the beholder: an enhancement of learning capabilities, an increased score on some future standardized exam, or the ability to more effectively socialize with peers. Whatever the definition, there is certainly a body of academic research which supports the claim that todays five year olds are mentally able to endure the additional classroom time and derive a lasting benefit from it. And there are parents who have put their kids through all-day kindergarten who will heartily vouch for the benefits it provided.
The study at the University of Virginia showed that in 1998, 31 percent of kindergarten teachers thought most children should learn to read while in kindergarten. By 2006, 65 percent of kindergarten teachers agreed with this idea. For many parents, the kindergarten report card will be the first report card they receive as parents. Many might be surprised. Some kindergarten reports cards can be several pages long. National standards for education can certainly impact how educators detail and report a childs progress. In the past, kindergarten programs may have formatted report cards based on what was important to parents. Now report cards are often formatted to reflect how a child is performing according to state standards.
Children who struggle in a traditional learning environment can also get great benefit from digital learning games. Interactive platforms provide a fun way to learn without fear of failure and give rewards that are in line with what is being learned. Through games, your child can gain the confidence he or she needs to approach math concepts that once seemed impossible. This confidence helps improve school performance and can lead to more positive participation in a classroom environment. Individually Catered Unlike basic school curriculum, digital learning games can be designed to move at your childs pace. Many games feature levels that build upon each other, so your child doesnt have to sit through lessons that he or she has already mastered. Instead, each level of the game increases in difficulty depending on how well certain ideas have been grasped. This creates a custom learning environment catered to the pace your child feels comfortable with. Without the stress of worrying about being left behind or the boredom that can result from having to wait to move on, kids can work at the speed they prefer and learn in a way thats just right for them.
Your childs education is a very important matter, and like all parents you want what is best for them. One of the first decisions you make about their education is kindergarten, being that this is their first step in school, you want it to be the best experience possible for them. And like a lot of parents, you may be wondering whether to send your children to either private or public kindergarten. Where your child starts their education is a important decision, one that takes extensive research, here some things to consider when looking into the benefits and drawbacks of both private, and public kindergartens.
Letters and Numbers Most kindergarteners are expected to have a basic understanding of their letters and numbers. They dont need to be reading books when they start the first day of school but being able to recognize the letters of the alphabet and basic numbers is important. Children should also know how to write most of their letters and numbers and be able to recite them. Whether or not your child went to preschool, you can reinforce these skills at home with kindergarten games for kids online. There are a variety of sites that work on these important skills, as well as provide printable worksheets to allow your child even more practice without the use of a computer. Basic Motor Skills The ability to hold pencils and crayons, use a paintbrush and cut with scissors are also skills that are assumed will be mastered upon entering kindergarten. As a parent, you can help your child hone these skills by providing plenty of practice at home. If you are not the crafty type, there are many websites available that offer simple instructions for basic arts and craft projects that allow children to master their motor skills before entering school.
