Another one of the many factors that you will want to take into consideration, when buying preschool workbooks, is what you want your child to learn. After a close look, you will find that they come in a number of different formats. It is possible to find workbooks that focus on a particular topic, such as numbers, as well as others that focus on a wide range of educational topics. If you are interested in working with your child to improve their alphabet, it may be a good idea to purchase workbooks that allow you to do so. Of course, it is also important to mention that a combination can be nice as well.
Sorting is another basic skill that is perfect for your preschooler to start learning. Of course you can sort anything you want or have, but building blocks, magnetic mazes, and stacking toys are a great way to keep the learning fun and keep the work from looking like work! There are so many different ways to sort things- color, size, shape, smell, touch (soft, rough, smooth, wet, dry, cold, hot, etc.) However, I would recommend that you only use one concept of sorting at a time for your preschooler. For example, if you are having your child pick out the blue blocks do not also ask them to pick out the blue square blocks. This is a concept meant for older children. If a young child is given a task that is too difficult or complex they are more likely to give up and not want to try again. Magnetic mazes are a great toy that gives your child a clear goal, allows them to practice visual tracking, hand-eye coordination, and of course sorting. Dont forget to allow your child to use their independence when sorting as well. For example, give them a small pile of buttons of different colors, shapes, sizes, materials, etc. and ask them to sort them. Different children will sort them differently, one child might sort them by color and another child might sort all of the plastic buttons on one pile and all of the metal in another. The important part is that they sorted correctly according to their own method and can tell you what they did.
Another way to stimulate a child is to have the right tool or preschool worksheets in developing their mental ability. We shouldnt underestimate their small brain by thinking that its not time for them to learn such things. Ages 3-6 are just perfect years for them to gain knowledge and education. Basic things such as shapes, colors, countings, letters and sounds are easily recognize even by toddlers. Not only that their memories are sharpened but they can easily imitate and recognize sounds that they hear. As they grow older, we can use a advance preschool worksheets that we know are fitting for their age. Lots of these worksheets can be found in bookstores or can be downloaded from the internet. Choose well researched preschool worksheets that contain modern and effective strategies to help you teach your preschoolers fast and easy. Above all you can make your childs pre schooling even more enjoyable and effective if you do so with real love and concern. Then after all, can look forward for the time when you will see your kids achieve their dreams and say to thanks to you for nurturing and developing them with love and concern.
Math concepts can also be reinforced for the children throughout the day on a regular basis. Try placing an enlarged number 12 above the 12 on the clock and label it "lunch time". Label your clock with as many of these types of labels that you can. This will help the children to recognize the way the clock looks when it is on the hour. Make sure to point out the clock when it is time for lunch by saying, "Look at the clock, it is time for lunch. See the little hand is on the 12". You can also incorporate math through songs. If you are learning about monkeys, make it a point to sing, "Five Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed". The same concept can also be used when you are reading books to preschoolers. There are plenty of books that incorporate counting into their story and will follow the theme you are teaching. Math is a concept that children will have to use for the rest of their lives and that will be continuously taught in school. By starting off their education with fun math activities, you can get them started with math the right way.
If you or your children prefer to not get their hands messy, you can use plastic zip-loc bags. Put the paints into the bags and tape them closed just to be sure they dont come open. Next put these in the water table and let the children press, squeeze, pick up, and observe what is happening. ( I do like to put these into a deep water table or if you dont have one, you can use plastic tubs. This is just a second precaution in case the bag comes open.) Your kids can take the different color bags and overlap them to see what new color they see; another way to discover color mixing. They enjoy the feel of the bags, the paint, the texture, and the coolness of the liquid inside.
