How will you preschool your young child? In pre-schooling your children must be according to their pace. Teach them according to their capacity. In this way, we can avoid them from being stress out. Stress can disable their learning abilities. Between the ages of 3 and 6 years, your child is capable of learning and absorbing more information than you can imagine. Advance his training with the use of preschool worksheets. These are very powerful tools to stimulate your childs brain. Yes visual aids are worth more than a thousand words. Visuals may include, preschool toys and work books that contain the concept of literacy. Find preschool worksheets that introduce alphabets, sounds, numbers, counting, shapes, colors, dot to dot drawing, coloring in and cutting out activities. As his age progresses, adapt to his needs. You may include advance preschool worksheets that are more on mathematics, reading, writing, perception and more general knowledge. With the help of these pre-school worksheets your child can develop the basic skills he needed when he starts his formal education.
Children enjoy using pencils, charcoal, pastels and chalk. Using these encourages them to vary the intensity or depth of colors. Markers have a place but they are not my first choice. Two of my favorites are charcoal on white card stock paper (so that it can withstand the intensity of the interaction and not tear) and finger paint. Worthy of note here is use of paint smocks for either activity. If your preschooler has to stop and worry about getting dirty or messy, it interferes with the discovery process. Charcoal and Pastel Drawings Lets start with charcoal. Set your kids up with large sheets of white cardstock. I have even bought poster board and cut it in sections so that everyone has canvas to work on. Give your kids charcoal pieces and encourage them to draw whatever they want. Show them that they can use their fingers and hands to smudge the designs, thus creating different effects. They can even put a handprint on it. Ask them to discover what happens when they use different pressure or use an entire side of the charcoal rather than the tip.
When you feel your child is physically ready to write, have your child use a stick or finger to draw in sand, rice, pudding, shaving cream, paint or oatmeal. Make simple lines and shapes and ask your child to copy them. Next, let your child practice writing on a dry erase board, chalk board or Magnadoodle. Preschoolers also tend to have fun with special crayons and markers designed for use on windows and in the tub. Take care not to rush this process. Let your child move through these stages at his or her own pace. When your child is ready, move on to pencil and paper. Build confidence by letting your preschooler trace simple lines and shapes, then proceed to letters. You can eventually teach your child to write his name by letting him trace or copy it daily. If your child needs help remembering how to spell her name, practice with fridge magnets, letter tiles or alphabet blocks. Keep preschool writing activities relaxed and fun. Dont expect or require perfection. Learning to write is a fun process that will give your preschooler a boost in confidence and solid foundation for future studies.
In keeping with preschool workbook formats, you will also find that many are themed. For instance, it is possible to find workbooks for preschoolers that have cars or farm animal themes. It is also possible to find a large selection of preschool workbooks that are character themed. For instance, many preschool workbooks contain characters such as Dora the Explorer, Winnie the Pooh, Blue from Blues Clues, and so forth. Purchasing workbooks with themes that interest your child are more likely to spark an interest in education. It is also important to examine your buying option, when it comes to preschool workbooks. What is nice about making a workbook purchase is that you have a number of different options. Preschool workbooks can be purchased locally or online. If you are interested in shopping locally, you should examine your local dollar stores, discount stores, book stores, department stores, and childrens stores.
Many people believe that you have to have a knack for math in order to do well in it. However, understanding the basic principles of math does not need any innate talent, or a genius intellect. What it does need is a change in attitude, and a solid foundation of basic skills on which to build. Mathematics worksheets can help you provide your preschooler with a solid grounding that will help them conquer math. The first secret you need to discover is that your children will follow your lead. Not a big secret to most parents, but sometimes we are unaware of the influence we have on our children. How often have you sat faced with a list of figures - balancing the check book, credit card statement or filling out tax forms - and muttered about how much you hate math, how hard it is, how you just dont have a head for math? You need to stop yourself right now! What you are telling your child is that math is a horrid chore, a difficult task, and one that you either have the talent to do, or you dont. You are making your child anxious about a school subject that they will have to do for many years - and a skill that they will need for the rest of their lives. You are also telling them that if they struggle with math, it just means that they dont have the talent for it - and it is therefore not their fault, and there is nothing they can do about it.
There are many math-based games available in educational toy stores that will help to reinforce the principles your child learns in worksheets. Computer games can help too, but depending on the age of your child, it is best not to encourage too much computer use at an early age. Everyday activities can be turned into math lessons too. A trip to the grocery store can turn into a math lesson if you encourage your child to help you count how many items you are buying, or add up the bottles of milk as you add them to your cart. Your aim should be to make math fun for your child and help them gain a solid understanding of the basics. Encourage your child to incorporate math into their daily activities, help them do mathematics worksheets, and then use the lessons therein to create fun activities for your child. The secret to learning math is to have an open mind about it. Just because you hated math doesnt mean your child should, and you will be doing them a disservice if you pass your negative feelings on to them. Make learning math fun, get a comprehensive set of mathematics worksheets to make it exciting and stimulating, and encourage your childs efforts all the way. Every math genius had to start with 1 + 1, just like your child.
