Use the heavy Christmas shopping hints that your child may leave you from time to time to select the kindergarten graduation gift that they might want for their kindergarten graduation ceremony. You might not want to ask them outright because it will almost certainly spoil the surprise but you can work on hints as well to understand what exactly is going to be suitable for the event. I know it sounds somewhat tacky to be tricking your own child but believe it might be the only way that you will be able to get to know what they really want for the graduation ceremony. Children can have very conflicting desires from one day to the next and it is up to you the parent to decipher what exactly they want.
Kindergarten Worksheets present an interesting way for kindergarten children to learn and reinforce basic concepts. Since children learn best by doing and since children get bored very easily, giving them well-designed, illustrated worksheets to do makes it easier and more fun for them to learn. Completing a worksheet also gives children a great sense of fulfillment. How to use worksheets for best effect: 1. Give children worksheets appropriate to their level. Give an easy worksheet for a concept immediately after you teach that concept. The worksheets should require a child to think just a little. If a child finds any activity too difficult, give him an easier one. It is important that the child doesnt get frustrated. Remember that different children have greatly varying levels of comprehension and pace of learning. 3. It will help if the worksheets are well-illustrated. Use of cartoon characters would make it more interesting for a child. Encapsulating common situations encountered at home, school, in the market place etc and using common objects known to children would make the worksheets more relevant. 4. Try to supplement each worksheet with a real-life activity. For example after a worksheet on counting, you can ask the child to pick out 3 biscuits and 2 carrots from many. 5. Remember, a child is learning many new things at once. A child of this age has an amazing capacity to learn many new things fast. He can also forget them equally fast. Doing many interesting worksheets with cartoons etc would be fun for him and would help continually reinforce what is learnt.
Connect The Letter To The Correct Sound/Word: These are activities where you draw a line between a letter and the picture items that start with that letter. For instance, youd draw a line from the letter A to the word "Apple" and the letter L to the word "Lemon". This activity is good, but takes a lot of monitoring to make sure that students are correctly connecting the letters. Its best as a homework activity, where parents can help to make sure their children are correctly connecting the letters to the words. Letter Books: These are books that frequently use the same phonemes over and over so students can understand them (the link between a letter and the sound it makes). For instance, "Baby bear bounced balls".
Next, some parents believe that the additional child-parent "quality time" available when a child is in half-day kindergarten is of more benefit than all-day kindergartens additional academics. These parents prefer to spend the additional time with their children bonding and visiting destinations such as the childrens museum, the zoo, a local park, or the YMCA. For these parents the kindergarten year represents a way of preparing their child, and frankly themselves, for the transition to all day school. And on a local level, some parents have expressed concerns that our schools are too crowded to allocate additional classrooms to all-day kindergarten sections. Others have claimed that the district has too much on its plate right now resolving other fiscal and practical issues. As my husband and I often say to each other, "the truth is somewhere in the middle." It is my perspective that all-day kindergarten is certainly the right choice for some while being inadvisable to force upon others. Some kids will benefit in the long run from the additional academic rigor, while other kids lack the maturity to stay engaged for the entire day and will be frustrated by it. The best solution is to have both options available, with the choice ultimately being left to the parent(s).
Your childs education is a very important matter, and like all parents you want what is best for them. One of the first decisions you make about their education is kindergarten, being that this is their first step in school, you want it to be the best experience possible for them. And like a lot of parents, you may be wondering whether to send your children to either private or public kindergarten. Where your child starts their education is a important decision, one that takes extensive research, here some things to consider when looking into the benefits and drawbacks of both private, and public kindergartens.
Kindergarten ABC worksheets should have different activities to help children identify the various letters of the alphabet. The activities may involve very simple things like colouring, ticking, drawing a line to match items etc. Using attractive illustrations and cartoon characters would make it more fun for children. The activities should be graded, i.e initial activities should be very simple and easy (but should be fun with good pictures etc, so as to interest the child); later worksheets may involve a little bit more work. Care should be taken to give children worksheets that they are capable of doing. This involves understanding and monitoring the child continually, since the level of attainment of different children would often be quite different. The worksheet should challenge the child but not overwhelm her. If the worksheet is too easy or too repetitive, it may bore the child and she would not be happy. If the activity is too difficult it would frustrate her and she would not like to take up more sheets.
